Links and Bones

 

Links and Bones is handmade by founder Kerri-ann. Showcasing the stark realities between metal and bone, something unyielding alongside the reality of decay. A punk little metaphor for life under capitalism and our humanity. 

Using industry made stainless steel and foraged/found naturally occurring elements kerri-ann joins the unmoving forces of capitalism with the fragile world in a stunning art display of our connection to both. 

All naturally occurring items from flowers to dead bugs and Bones are forged in a sustainable and ethical way with great reverence for the lives lost among the way. Bringing discarded animal bodies home from local highways, returning them to the earth to be consumed in the circle of life and then harvesting what is left is done with the most abundant care and compassion. If asked, most bones will have a story, a name and cause of death that can be talked on. No bones or natural occurring items like insects or flowers are ever commercially obtained. 

Community and accessibility over profit keeps costs low. Kerri-ann ensures her costs and time are covered keeping a small profit margin to cover the costs of licensing, shipping essentials and booth fees only. The objective here is not to sell you jewlery you dont need and contribute to fast fashion and over consumption. The goal is to share the stories of the unheard, create art, foster connections with consumers and create a timeless piece that will last and hopefully open the door to conversations about our impact on the natural world and our percieved separation from it. 

With accessibility being at the forefront of pricing, kerri-ann is well aware of the financial crisis most folks find themselves in. Punk and Goth arent just fashion, they are inheritantly political. Kerri-ann believes black lives matter, affordable housing for all, free Palestine, mental health accessibility, gender affirming care, living wage, diversity and community above profits.
